Life throws us many surprises and today is no exception.
Two hours ago my dad called me and told me my Grandmother had died from the deadly symptom of high blood pressure. It was less than 3 months ago that I had met her for the first time in Vietnam. She was as healthy and active as one expected of a Grandparent, so her death to me seems so surreal.
I don't know what I'm feeling right now - confused, sadness, sympathy, numb. It's so mixed.
She is the first family member that I have personally met who has passed away. Yet I don't feel the need to cry...yet, perhaps I am in shock.
I dedicate this blog entry to her, to a great woman who was caring, thoughtful, accepting and full of humour, and to my family members who are grieving throughout this ordeal. May she rest in peace and may others find closure in her absence.
